Individual Advocacy

Individual advocacy assistance may be provided in different ways and for different reasons. The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles may:

  (a) work with you directly to help advocate with and for you to address your need in the school or workplace or in another arena of life
  (b) invite you to participate in a special training or seminar so you can become a better self-advocate
  (c) provide epilepsy training in your school or workplace in order to promote greater understanding and accommodation
  (d) refer you to an experienced peer-mentor who can accompany or advise you, and/or
  (e) refer you to a community, professional or legal organization that specializes in legal advocacy and in individual (civil) or disability rights.

The overall purpose is to help ensure your rights and optimize your opportunities in all walks of life.
