Individual Advocacy
Individual advocacy assistance may be provided in different ways and for different reasons. The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles may:
| (a) | work with you directly to help advocate with and for you to address your need in the school or workplace or in another arena of life | |
| (b) | invite you to participate in a special training or seminar so you can become a better self-advocate | |
| (c) | provide epilepsy training in your school or workplace in order to promote greater understanding and accommodation | |
| (d) | refer you to an experienced peer-mentor who can accompany or advise you, and/or | |
| (e) | refer you to a community, professional or legal organization that specializes in legal advocacy and in individual (civil) or disability rights. |
The overall purpose is to help ensure your rights and optimize your opportunities in all walks of life.
